Reminiscence

This body of work was created at Denniston Hill artist residency, embodies a connection with the surrounding environment.

Each piece is made in collaboration with nature. By pressing clay into the ground, I have captured the landscape's imprints and used those textures to shape a series of vessels. Additionally, I have mixed clay with local materials such as rocks, grass, sticks, wood shavings, sawdust as well as coffee grinds and tea leaves that were used by the residents during our time at Denniston Hill.

This approach allowed me to create a unique collection that encapsulates the memory of the place. Each piece serves as a tangible object, preserving the subtle nuances of the environment and the experience.

To complete the cycle, the work was fired in the ground at the same place where it was created.
